Moonshine has come out with some new flies.  Looking forward to running them this afternoon.  Run them behind Spin Doctors, clean off riggers, clean off divers.  Several years ago I ran squids clean off of divers (no dodgers or rotators) and this was the hottest rod on the boat.  With the glow blade thumpin and making noise this should be enough to do it on its own, stay tuned to find out more.  Use the forum to help your fellow fisherman develop other techniques, a very good source of info and communication medium.

Fishing is very good.  Good south wind yesterday and last night moved fish in from Little Pointe to Big Pointe.  Fish are being caught at the Pier Head, the Bank, straight out, a little south, a little north, 120ft and less.  Talking to Captains to the north the water is warmer and they are struggling.  We have cold water trapped between the points with fish and bait present making for some exciting and fast fishing.  Big Kings, Steelhead, Lake Trout, Brown Trout (more being caught than previous years) and still an occasional Coho.  Everything is going, Spin Doctors, Spoons, Plugs, riggers, divers, lead core, and copper.  You still have to use your head when putting out a spread, but everyone is catching fish.

Ludington Polecat had some happy customers, and fast action.  Time to get out fishing, its very good!!

Water is ice cold up and down the coast out of Ludington.  Fish being caught in tight from the Lincoln River down to the projects.  Spin Doctors, Tuxedo was good today w/ Strong Glow Mirage Fly, Plugs on half cores and spoons on  riggers and 3 color and full cores.  I fished the Bank and it was 41.5deg at the stick.  There was a slight surface temp break at the 33 line and worked that north and south.  Moonshine Do-De-K on half cores were very good, along with Moonshine Yellow Tail 35 down, and on a full core, Moonshine Daisy Cutter Mag 80 down has been good the last several times I have fished.  Killer Bees and DW POL on flat lines and 3 colors are going well and Red Devils on 2 colors.  DW Magic Man 125 back on high divers has been a consistent producer.  Mag Lemon Ice and Carmel Dolphins have done well on riggers and full cores.  With the water being so cold the fish are scattered through the water column and you can take big 4 yr olds from the surface down past 100'.

This crew had a good time fishing with RAPTOR.  The kids caught there first salmon and they were the 2 biggest fish of the day.  Speed seemed to be the key!  Fast, fast, faster, in the cold water you couldn't go too fast.

Fishing sounded spotty today, had to find the cold water.  Fished straight out 55's-57's, 37-39.0 in a cold pocket, 49 deg on the surface.  Speed seemed to be the key fast fast faster, 3.2-4.0kts SOG, 2 3/4 kts at the ball.  High cores were good with Steelie Sompers and Red Devils.  High divers were good with DW Magic Man.  Full cores with Mag lemon Ice and Carmel Dolphins were good.  Heard other boats hitting on Moonshine Mag blue jackals and Daisy Cutters.  South down at Little Pointe boats were hitting mostly kings, so with the right wind they'll be right back in front of Ludington.

Bondale crew had a good time hitting some big Kings and Steelhead, fishing on RAPTOR.  The lake was beautiful, sunny, flat and no bugs!!

Fishing was very good today.  The bank was going with big kings in front of the north blow we were having.  Meat Rigs on divers and riggers were hot, red twinkies and green glow twinkies were best.  Other boats not running meat were doing very well on mag spoons, blue green dolphins, carmel dolphins, green dolphins and lemon ices on rigger and divers.  With the north blow the water was moving and the bank was cooling off very fast this morning.  Remember, wind from the north go south, wind from the south go north, when in doubt go straight out!!

Nice Kings being brought in today despite rough water.  Meat Rigs and mag spoons were the ticket.  Fish were loaded with bait, mostly mag size alewives, and fresh, they were on the feed!

Fished the evening and it was a pick.  With the south winds the thermals were starting to set up in the 38's.  Fished the 50's-58's, 36's-41's and all fish came in the 38's.  Fish came on 3 colors with DW Pearl Orange Lasers, 5 colors with Super Slim Starbursts, and Yeck Fireballs.  Moonshine Blue Lemon on riggers 50ft down was very good on riggers.  Marking balls of bait in the deep water finally, a good sign that things will pick up.  All the bait in the fish were about 3" long, I had no mag spoon bites.  Not many people fishing so its hard to narrow the hot spots down.  Good catches are being caught every day, with 3-4 species in every box.  Its a great mixed bag fishery right now.  Big Kings are showing up in pockets, and you just have work the water hard where you are hitting fish.
